AHC Computer Solutions Angela Hanvey, who hails from Ayrshire, moved to Highland Perthshire in 1998, having worked in London and Germany with H M Diplomatic Service before settling in Glasgow for a number of years arranging visits for The Princess Royal in association with the Princess’ work with The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. She worked at Abernethy Ardeonaig for 9 years as Office Manager and, more recently, as Assistant Operations Director. She then moved to Aberfeldy in November last year to join the team at Care Dental. AHC Computer Solutions is a business Angela has set up to help those who have problems with their PC, laptop or network - whether it be at home or work. She has been working with computers for more than 15 years and last year gained a couple of Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications and is keen to put these to good use while helping the local community. AHC Computer Solutions provides friendly, jargon-free computing support in its clients’own home or business. “We all know that salesmen in city centre stores work on commission and would talk us into buying a computer that’s all singing and dancing when all we want is to download music, send emails and keep an eye on our household budget,” Angela remarked to Comment. Alternatively, Angela provides impartial advice on the requirements for anyone thinking of buying a computer, based upon their needs, so that they don’t end up buying something bigger or more expensive than necessary. Then when they get their new computer home and aren’t sure which bits plug in where, AHC can set it all up and ensure that they know their way around the software they’ll be using. Installing software programs, setting up wireless networks and keeping computer running are all in a day’s work for AHC but Angela also offers tuition on various programs and offers annual maintenance contracts too. “Having taught a ‘Computing for the Terrified’ class in Killin on behalf of Breadalbane Virtual Learning Centre, I know that a lot of people are wary of contacting computer companies for help in case their question is too simple. The philosophy at AHC Computer Solutions is that there’s no such thing as a stupid question but that’s not a challenge being laid down!” Angela quipped. AHC aims to provide a solution to computing problems, large or small, and Angela aims her local service at saving clients time and money over the larger businesses in the city.
