From Small Acorns to Great Oaks Spirit of Wood in Aberfeldy is constantly expanding its product range and type of service. Hotels, Guest house and self-catering properties, from Edinburgh to Inverness are benefiting from the experience Spirit of Wood has acquired in the furniture industry. Earlier this year a new manager, Gordon Ferguson, was apponted who has been working in the home retail sector for 16 years.Gordon brought with him great experience in the industry and this is linked to the company’s number one priority - “quality customer service and product”. Gordon has been in the post now for 4 months. “I love the challenge,” he told Comment. “The advantage Spirit of Wood has over others is the service it provides which is better than any of the large multiples. This is because we can do what is required to fit almost all the customers’ needs. “If we currently don’t have a product that a customer wants it’s not a case of ‘no sorry’, as the multiples would, but ‘yes, certainly’.” Expansion at Spirit of Wood is marked also by the extension to 7 day trading and the introduction of a new oak range from Lithuania. The company is also offering 30% discount on last year’s prices for garden furniture due to a renegotiation of supply contracts.
