Sports Injury Massage and Relaxation

Those with sports injuries, a sore back or simply needing a bit of relaxation will be pleased to know that Samantha Weir has opened her Sports and Life Therapy Clinic at Karelia House near Kenmore. Samantha is the daughter of Doug and Shirley Shearer of Enerfoil Magnum and her clinic is in one of the beautiful Scandinavian log cabins in the grounds of Karelia House.

After Breadalbane Academy she took a place at Strathclyde University where she graduated with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science involving the study of human movement, incorporating physiology, psychology, motor control, biomechanics, nutrition and performance analysis. Samantha has been practising sports massage for 8 years.

From there she gained a variety of post graduate diplomas with the Western School of Massage, including sports injuries massage, Swedish massage, infant massage, hydrotherm massage, scientific core conditioning and a certificate in counselling skills.

Samantha’s work has involved training young adults to a level of physical fitness required to enter the armed forces. She was operating her clinic in the west end of Glasgow, treating competitors of Britain’s strongest man and woman for their sporting injuries and remedial treatments as well as treating employees of BP on their offshore oil rig installations.

She has now found the ultimate injury treatment facility away from the hustle and bustle of everyday lifewhich offeres a relaxed atmosphere and professional approach to treating those aches and pains. Here she offers a variety of treatments which provide the promotion of health and wellbeing.

Hydrotherm is a type of massage which is carried out on heated water cushions. The patient will remain on their back for the entire duration of the treatment adding to the comfort and luxury. The therapist is able to use the body weight of the patient to gauge the pressure used for the treatment. This is ideal for older patients or patients whose condition means they have a reduced range of movement.  It is a warm and comforting treatment with huge physical and mental benefits.

For more information on any of the treatments offered by Samantha can be contacted on 07834 279 446 or email info@sportslifetherapy.co.uk (website www.sportslifetherapy.co.uk)
