Cycle Event Impact: Report

The consultants paid by P&K to produce the economic impact assessment have organised a meeting with P&K director of Economic Development Ken McDonald, the convener of the Enterprise & Infrastructure Committee, Cllr John Kellas, and the three elected members for Highland Perthshire on Friday 14 September. At this they will go through their report and explain the results
.
It is the local authority’s intention after the meeting to convene an invitation-only community meeting extending to a cross section of the community with one representative from each of the 10 community Councils, and maybe two from the local tourist committee’s and other bodies.
C’llr Lyall told Comment: “It is my view that this meeting has to be within 4 weeks of the 14th, and to give at least two weeks notice to all the invited parties.
“This meeting should not be just to pick holes in this year’s event, but to discuss the whole issue and see if there is a way forward for such an event. In that respect the meeting would have to be properly chaired, with a tight agenda.”
