Public Meeting to Address Cycle Event Issues

Residents of Highland Perthshire are being invited to have their say on temporary road closures that will be put in place when the area hosts the prestigious Etape Caledonia cycle event this summer.

A public meeting will be held on Thursday 29 March, at Aberfeldy Recreation Centre, at 7pm, when possible road closures will be discussed.

The cycling event will attract hundreds of cyclists to the area on 24 June and promises to be a spectacular day for both participants and spectators. It is scheduled to start and finish in Pitlochry.

However, the Council wishes to minimise the impact it will have on the ability of local residents to go about their normal business.

No road closures have yet been decided on, and residents will get the opportunity to give their opinions at the meeting. All local organisations and individuals are welcome to attend.

A meeting has already been held with community representatives to gather their views on which roads could possibly be closed.
