Strathtay Ramblers - Walks Update
On Saturday 7 June, the Ramblers enjoyed a wonderful walk on the Glen Ogle Trail. Leaving Lochearnhead in the early forenoon we walked up through the valley in glorious sunshine.
As we walked our boots brushed the plants and set up a delightful smell of bog myrtle while we watched the growing lambs playing their little games. Looking back we could see the amazing structure of the viaduct in the distance. Before Dr Beeching made his cuts we may have seen a steam train on this old Callander to Oban railway line but today it is a well used cycle track sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland.
Four hours later, our circular walk took us back to Lochearnhead where we discovered there was tea and home baking in the village hall. All twelve members of the group enjoyed this greatly and it gave us time to talk over the events of another glorious day’s walking.
We would be pleased to welcome more walkers to enjoy friendship in the great outdoors.
