Aberfeldy Bowling Update

Club Pairs competition was played for between 28 April and 8 May.  Winners were Douglas Craik and Isla Duncan who beat runners up Roddy McRobert and Norrie Rattray.

On 7 May a North Perthshire League (NPL) match was played at Aberfeldy when the home team beat Dunkeld by 83 shots (6 points) to 42 shots (2 points).  Another NPL game at Grandtully on 16 May resulted in another win for Aberfeldy with 65 shots (4 points) to Grandtully’s 61 shots (4 points).

On 17 May the annual friendly against Causewayhead was staged.  The visiting 16 bowlers scored 70 shots to Aberfeldy’s 62.

It was off to Moulin for the next NPL match on 21 May, resulting in a resounding win for Aberfeldy with 68 shots (7 points) to Moulin’s 50 shots (1 point).

With the green bathed in sunshine on 25 May Aberfeldy defeated the 18 visitors from Falkirk by 92 shots to 87.

Scottish Women’s Bowling Association Finals

Christine MacLennan, a member of the Aberfeldy Bowling Club has won through all the preliminary games and will now play in the finals at Northfield in Ayr, later in the season.  Having been runner-up in the finals last year, Christine is hoping to win the final this year.
